I think in systems but I lead through people. I zoom out far enough to set direction, and stay close enough to know when it's wrong. I've done this at JP Morgan, at Mastercard, and now at Hiro Systems, where I lead engineering, product, and design. The common thread: complex, high-stakes domains where getting it right matters the same as getting it first. Right now I'm focused on making Bitcoin programmable and growing the developer ecosystem around it.
